Aftercare
I hope you love your new jewellery as much as I loved making it!
Every order comes with a silver polishing cloth for you to keep your treasures looking shiny and bright.
The best way to keep your silver from tarnishing is to wear it!
All metals tarnish over time, but there are some steps you can take to keep your jewellery looking its best.
Avoid wearing your jewellery in the bath/shower/pool. Chlorine is terrible for precious metals and perfumes/cosmetics will also dull your jewellery.
If you do store your jewellery away, keep it in an airtight container away from sunlight to slow the tarnishing process. If your jewellery does tarnish, rub with a polishing cloth to bring back the shine.
The Tenement Tile Collection is made with delicate 100 year old tile and coated in epoxy resin to preserve the tile. Please take care to protect these pieces from sunlight, perfume/cosmetics and water to keep your jewellery at its best.
Avoid rubbing the epoxy coating on the Tenement Tiles pieces as this will dull the coating.
I am happy to polish your jewellery for a small fee, message me via the contact page to discuss.
I'm Lynsey and I founded Glasgow Trinkets Co. in January 2024.
I started making jewellery in 2020 with 18k gold plated pieces incorporating embroidery.
I really enjoyed it and wanted to learn more so at the beginning of 2023, I began a jewellery making course where I learnt metal-smithing skills. By the end of the year I had set up a workshop in my flat and had my first commission!
I've always been a massive jewellery lover, it's a running joke in my house that I'm a total magpie when it comes to anything shiny and have far too many trinkets which is what inspired the name Glasgow Trinkets Co.
It brings me so much joy to make jewellery that can be treasured and loved for a lifetime!
Thanks for being here you wonderful humans 🧡
